Michelle Weiss has more than 20 years of experience in oncology management and consulting for private practice physicians, outpatient hospital and pharmaceutical clients. Ms. Weiss is accomplished at analyzing practice operations and growth opportunities, introducing strategic and tactical solutions that improve performance while increasing revenues.

In additional to her consulting company, Ms. Weiss is currently Senior Reimbursement Consultant and Editor of a bi-monthly newsletter for the Michigan Society of Hematology Oncology. Ms. Weiss’ tenure with the Michigan Society includes 6 years as;

The Head of Oncology Reimbursement for the State of Michigan, founder and chairperson of the MSHO Group Purchasing Organization, responsible for 4 reimbursement and 4 management programs annually for the state membership, creator and editor of the weekly published Reimbursement Fax Alert, creator and editor of the MSHO Website and testified before the State Senate along with Dr. Phillip Stella in an effort to help defeat the Michigan Department of Community Health’s appropriation budget amendment requiring physicians to preauthorize every off label pharmaceutical prescribed to Medicaid and Medicare Patients.

She also served on the following committees;

AWP Committee – Founder and Chair

Managed Care Committee – Founder and Chairperson

Drug Reimbursement Committee – Founder and Chairperson

Oral Chemotherapy Initiative – Chairperson

Ms. Weiss continues to work closely with many state societies throughout the years including a 2 year position as Executive Associate Director of the West Virginia Oncology Society.

Michelle Weiss’ extensive oncology experience includes 14 years as an Administrator of a large oncology group practice in Royal Oak, Michigan. She has another decade of medical management experience in Internal Medicine and Surgery.

An innovative and energetic leader and skilled communicator/team builder, she frequently lectures throughout the country. Some of her recent lectures include, “Oncology Reimbursement 101- Back to the Basics,” “Running Your Practice by Protocol,” “How to Effectively Work with Payers,” “Understanding Managed Care Contracts”, Better Management through Conflict Resolution,” and “What Your Accounts Receivable Means to Your Practice.”

Ms. Weiss continues to serve on multiple pharmaceutical Advisory Boards. She is a member of the Professional Association of Health Care Office Managers, the Association of Oncology and Hematology Administrators, the American Academy of Medical Administrators, the American College of Oncology Administrators, and the Medical Group Management Association. She served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Community Cancer Centers from 1999 to 2002.
